At
a recent parent’s informational night on the
Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks with the Common Core Standards, a
number of questions were posed at the end of the evening by those in attendance. We will post responses to a few questions each week and
post them on the blog. We hope you find
them informative.
1. 1. Have we seen the results of last year’s PARCC
pilot fieldtests?
No. The state did not return any individual or
school results on the PARCC pilot tests last spring. They were meant only to help the state gauge
the effectiveness of the questions and aid in the process of evaluating the test and making necessary adjustments
2. 2. Is
it true that the standards were written by a private company?
The following is
information taken from the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s
website and details who took part in the rewriting of the MA Curriculum Frameworks for Mathematics.
We will post a similar list for those educators
who took part in updating the ELA Frameworks at a later date.
